AffiloTheme Review (Mark Ling)

Welcome to my AffiloTheme review.  Let’s hang out for a minute and see if Mark Ling’s new WordPress theme is any good – sound cool?

What Is AffiloTheme?

AffiloTheme is a powerful new WordPress theme created by Mark Ling.  Next week, you can pick it up for a discounted launch price of $47, after which time, it’ll get bumped up to $97.

It’s designed specifically for affiliate marketers, which is awesome in my book, since our needs are quite distinct.

Personally, I already have a theme I’m in love with…

I use Thesis here on Cash Review, as well as my dozens of other little affiliate blogs.

I could go on and on about why I think Thesis is the premiere WordPress theme for Internet marketers, but I’ll spare you, as you’re here to learn about Mark’s AffiloTheme.

Actually, I’ve already bragged it up in this post.

(I’ll be buying AffiloTheme when the cart opens on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 — and I’m excited to see how it compares to Thesis.  Who knows, maybe I’ll start using it on some of my affiliate sites if it’s as good as it sounds).

In a nutshell, AffiloTheme was created for affiliates who need a versatile, elegant-looking WordPress theme that easily handles all the basic tasks that you need to perform when running a profitable affiliate marketing business.

According to Mark Ling, AffiloTheme is ideal for newbies due to it’s ease of use, but it’s also great for intermediate to advanced marketers, thanks to the wide range of capabilities and customization options.

If you’re someone who’s always wanted great-looking opt-in forms and squeeze pages…

… but you’ve never had the technical know-how (or funds) to add them to your site, this might be a nice selling point for you.

AffiloTheme Pluses

The first thing that sticks out for me is the fact that it’s SEO-optimized.

Being someone who implements an advanced Google Sniper strategy to drive thousands of targeted buyers to my affiliate sites, using 100% free traffic from Google, it’s critical that I use a WordPress theme that’s coded for SEO performance.

This is the main reason AffiloTheme caught my attention in the first place.

I also dig the fact that Mark Ling made it (literally) push-button easy to publish sweet-looking opt-ins forms and squeeze pages.

I cannot even begin to tell you how many hours (more like days, if not weeks) I’ve wasted in the past, searching for the perfect list building solution to add-on to my WordPress sites.

Also, AffiloTheme has a built-in header image creator.

Clearly, I could benefit from this.  Just scroll up to the top of this site to check out my totally non-existent header image.

It’ll be interesting to see what type of quality the creator can crank out.

I’m someone who’d just as soon go without, as opposed to using some cheesy-looking header just to say you have one.

Next up, tracking.

This is more for the advanced super affiliates, but even newbies will eventually benefit from the tracking solution Mark tied in to the AffiloTheme admin area.

Very cool for monitoring the number of clicks on your different affiliate links.

In addition to all of the functional awesomeness, you get step-by-step video training that teaches you how to install, customize and build out the AffiloTheme to your exact liking.

A members only forum will compliment the videos, allowing you to get funky with other savvy AffiloTheme users.

Lastly, if you buy AffiloTheme, you’re backed by Mark Ling’s lifetime customer support, plus 30 days of free access inside Affilorama Premium — Ling’s well-known university for affiliate marketers.

AffiloTheme Minuses

With such a big name – Mark Ling – there’s bound to be a lot of buzz and cross-promotion for the AffiloTheme launch.

This means, there could be thousands of affiliate marketers who end up purchasing AffiloTheme.

On top of that, many super affiliates, like myself, have multiple WordPress sites.

Some have hundreds.

So, if tens of thousands of websites start popping up in the most popular niches we affiliates like to go after… this is going to cause a lot of “AffiloTheme saturation.”

This could make it difficult for you to differentiate your WordPress sites from your competitors.

Hopefully, with all of the customization options, this won’t be too big of an issue, but you never know.

Another potential negative is that the AffiloTheme hasn’t had time to work the kinks out, whereas long-standing bestsellers, like Thesis, have had years to ensure all the coding is bug-free.

Again, that’s not a guaranteed problem, but something to consider.

Lastly, I’ll say the AffiloTheme will live or die by just how visually appealing you can make it.

WordPress themes like OptimizePress already offer most of the same features as AffiloTheme, so Mark Ling better bring his graphical A-game if he wants this puppy to stand out from the rest.
